Sun. 12 Jun 2011, 10 AM - 4 PM
NRR Restaurant Run to
Ride Leaders: Woody & Ann 13 bikes with 16 participants went on this adventure. Except for a short thunderstorm on the return ride, it was a perfect day of shiny motorcycles, tasty food, good roads & great company. A special thanks to the staff of The Lodge for their hospitality and for inviting us there. As usual, after lunch the group dispersed in many directions - some to the railroad at Rock Hill, some to the ice cream store in Martinsburg, and some home. Our thanks to everyone for a super day. |

NRR Day Tour: Sullivan County
PA. Ride Leader: John Johnston
Sorry, no ride photos - but here's the Ride Report from JJ: |
We
had seven riders on 7 bikes for this day tour:Rob Royer Bob Berg Bill Harvey Jeff Scarangella Andrew Biddle Woody John Johnston The weather was absolutely perfect for this trip! The first 60 miles of the trip was moderately paced, due to the traffic and construction on RT 45 East through Lewisburg. Things picked up as we followed RT 642 to Jerseytown, then RT 254 to Millville, and finally RT 42 into Eagles Mere, arriving a few minutes past noon. There (amazingly) we met Andrew coming down the main street, who had come out by a totally different route, with a later starting time. Lunch was at the Eagles Mere Inn, and though the service wasn’t "Fast Food", we left agreeing that it was "Good Food!" We did a brief tour around the historic lake at Eagles Mere, then went over to nearby Worlds End State Park for a brief stop. At that point we decided to follow one of two paths home, with JJ leading the Express Route, and Andrew Biddle taking a group on the Scenic Route. A great day was had by all – thanks to all the participants! |

Sun. 9 Oct 2011 NRR DAY TOUR: Elk Country Day Tour FROM ANDREW BIDDLE: "Mother Nature was on our side as she provided perfect weather for our ride to Benezette. We had a great group of bikes and made our way up through Milesburg and Karthaus to Wykoff Run. At Wykoff Run we decided to go through in a staged fashion so each rider could go at the pace they desired. Wykoff Run was cage free & LEO free; you could see it was chipped recently, but the recent rain had washed it clean. From there we rode over to the Benezette Hotel, where we were immediately seated, and all enjoyed an excellent lunch. A short hop to the Elk County Visitors Center, where we all were fortunate enough to see a Bull Elk. He was bedding down for the day in the brush, but was clearly visible. This marks the first time we've actually seen an Elk!! The Visitor Center was crowded and the wait too long for stay for the show. All of the riders headed home on there own...thx to all for participating, see you next year!" |

Nov 2011 NRR Pre-Veteran's Day Ride (AKA: The Pie-Fixes-Everything Ride) It was a beautiful & brisk day for a fall ride - the final official ride of 2011 for the NRR. After the meal, the group dispersed in many directions in order to enjoy the rest of their day on two (or three) wheels. Our thanks to each rider for a great afternoon and a super 2011 Group Riding Season with the NRR.
