1 Jan 05  NRP New Year's Day Ride

"Wow, weather yesterday was awesome! 60 degrees on New Year's Day is as good as it gets. We had both NRP stalwarts (Bill O., Jon Polay, and myself) and 3 new to the group: Arnold (Kaw Concours), Ed (Kaw Concours), and Gene (BMW R1150). We did a little loop down to Alexandria, through Huntington, up Big Valley, through Greenwood Furnace, and back over Tussey Mtn. The roads were mostly dry, and there was very little sand and cinders in the corners. We also saw many motorcycles on the road (even a few Triumphs from Harrisburg). If you didn't make it out yesterday, you missed one of the few Bonus Days in PA.  Hope to see the rest of you at the planning meeting on January 17th or at one of the spring rides."  Eric

"What a great way to spend a Spring afternoon ....14 bikes hauling 24 folks to the Bull Run Inn in Lewisburg. We had a super ride down Rt. 192, a stretch break at R. B. Winter State Park, then into Lewisburg for a tasty lunch about 2:45. We departed Lewisburg about 4:00 and returned to Happy Valley by Rt. 45. Got home at 6PM, but the one-hour lateness was worth it. The best thing about the day was the fellow riders; it was great to see the returning riders as well as the new riders. A special thanks to Arnold and Jon for assisting with the battery issue for a fellow rider." Woody

"6 bikes with 9 participants left KMS just after 10:30 AM. We met the riders from the Royal RAT Pack and from the King's Brigade RAT Pack for lunch at Harry's Grill in Bloomsburg at 12:30, then went to Bill's Old Bike Barn from 2-4PM. The ride home was on a super route. It was exhilarating, fun, safe, and chilly! Total trip: 217 miles. Our hat's off to Bill Morris for his superb collection and displays at the Bike Barn. Worth the trip, and worth a return trip when their expansion is completed. Thanks also to Carl & Cindy Milliron for suggesting this great destination." Woody
