Incorporating the Nittany RAT Pack

Riding Policies

Participation in Nittany Road Riders events is free and open to all prior and future customers of Kissell Motorsports (all brands) and their guests (with their own bike or as a passenger).

▪ NRR rides are intended to be fun and safe for all participants, and each rider is encouraged to ride at their comfort level. On all NRR rides, if there are a sufficient number of bikes, we will split into either smaller riding groups OR two Velocity Groups: Sport Bikers & Cruisers.  In all cases, know the planned route, always ride so that you feel comfortable & enjoy the ride; the frontrunners will wait up.

▪ Food & fuel costs, admissions, etc., are the responsibility of each rider.

▪ It is necessary for each participant to sign the Release Form prior to each NRR Ride Event. Click here to view the sample Release Form (in Adobe PDF format), which will be provided by the Event Leader at each event for signatures.

Impromptu rides (for part-day or all-day routes) are encouraged. Just let us know if you'd like to have some two-wheeled company, and post it to the group using the Yahoo! Email group.

Riders:
All NRR rides will depart from the Kissell Motorsport's shop. If you plan to attend an event, please email the Event Leader to let them know you're coming. Please arrive at the events at least 15 minutes before departure time, fully-fueled and ready-to-ride. And don't forget your camera; photos always welcomed!

Event Leaders:
Please forward your event details to Woody for listing on the Ride Schedule (departure site, ETA's, etc) and use this Release Form to be signed by each driver and passenger. Route details should be handed out to each rider. Establish with fellow riders the "pace" (two pace groups are recommended) and the route of the ride. Post-Event Reports are also encouraged after your event.

So what's involved in volunteering to coordinate an NRR Ride?

  • Plan a favorite destination & the loop routes (departing from the new KMS shop). The routes are just as important as the destination.
  • Decide the date & times (check the main 2011 Event Schedule to avoid conflicts with other events).
  • Prepare the Route Sheets for the trip. *
  • Email the details to Woody to post here, then also post some info & the URL for the event for the NRR Yahoo! Group.
  • Print out one of the NRR Waiver Forms to obtain the signature of every driver and rider just before departure.
  • Get someone to take some photos for the Photo Gallery.

* With regard to the Route Sheets...
(for safety, it's required that each rider be given a Route Sheet with either the text route or a map with the route):
1.  Tom D. King offered to donated the copying of route sheets at his business (King Printing). About 20 copies per ride is usually a safe (optimistic) number.
2.  http://maps.google.com/ offers a handy and free mapping service, then you can distribute the map link furnished.
