Thanks, Gang. We're
ready for NRR Year #8...
The minds, the food,
the event suggestions, the calendar and a few hardy souls on
motorcycles all came together at the
NRR 2011 Planning Meeting on Sunday, 20 Feb 2011 at
Prospector's Restaurant, State College. Based upon the various
suggestions below, the group worked thru the riding calendar
(Apr-Oct) to develop an initial ride plan.

finalized at the meeting.
In addition to the 2011 events
scheduled, a
number of other ideas developed at the meeting for 2011: •
That some special rides and events may be added, such as the
Fire Company Breakfast Runs, the West VA. Euro-Rider
Rendezvous, and the U.S. Triumph Classic Triple Rally
scheduled near Wellsboro.
•
Keep the
current
Restaurant Run (10 AM Sunday) and Day Tour formats, always departing
from Kissell Motorsports. • Prepare order info with
Craig Kissell for the 2011 NRR tshirts (with a new design). A
2011 NRR patch was also suggested - which is something
different and would
reduce the size and layout issues encountered with
shirts.
• Continuing to foster the
impromptu rides provided by the SCME group. This cooperation has strengthened both
groups and provided more riding opportunities for all.
• Strengthen the
connection with sponsor Kissell Motorsports with joint events.
• Emphasize safety on the NRR rides, especially important for new
group riders, with an expanded pre-trip safety discussion, adding emergency
contact info to the waiver sheets with Leader & Sweeper cell numbers,
and that the "Lower Velocity Group" always focus on matching that name.
• Rick Sampsell offered to set up a Facebook page
supplement and promote the NRR website.
• A special "Kissell
Motorsports Events" page
should be added to the NRR website to
publicize dealer events for NRR members.
• In order to host NRR
meetings on a "let's try it" basis, KMS will remain open until 8 PM on the last Thursday Night
of March & April until 8 PM. These events may help both new and old
members learn about upcoming NRR events - and their popularity will
determine if they continue. |

Thanks
to rider suggestions, the 2011 NRR Ride Schedule has very few "repeat"
destinations. And while we couldn't schedule
every idea, additional rides may also develop as "Impromptu
Rides" during 2011 - with a few days advance notice to
fellow riders. Our thanks to the
SCME for their ongoing impromptu rides. All it takes is for someone to
speak up and it's a GO!
Possible NRR
Destinations & Special Events:
1. "Motorcycle
Item Flea Market / Swap Meet" Sell that gently-used
moto-gear,
parts and camping stuff you have laying around. Details pending.
2. Attend the trials events by the
Durty Dabbers
group in Lock Haven, PA.
